Criteria (Suggested Completion Time - 6 Months)
Adventure and the Outdoor
1. Navigation and Exploration
Attain EITHER the Navigator Activity Badge or the Explorer Activity Badge.
2. Cooking and Campcraft
Complete TWO requirements from the Camper Activity Badge.
3. Knotting
Learn how to tie at least 3 new knots and state their uses. Use these knots in an activity, preferably outdoors.
4. Cub Scout Leadership Course
Complete an overnight Cub Scout Leadership Course (CSLC) and sleep under tentage outdoors.
(*Tents are to be pitched outdoors with the intention of sleeping in them - i.e to a good camping standard, with rain covers securely attached. In the event of lightning alert, Cubs are to be evacuated when safe to do so, and shifted temporarily to an indoor location. It is suggested that Cubs refrain from camping during the monsoon season, as requirements are less likely to be fulfilled due to inclement weather.) NB. Cubs are to have camped in tentage at least once before their CSLC and are to include evidence of all camping experiences in their journal entries.
Caring for Others and Self
1. Helping Others
Complete the first five requirements of the Emergency Preparedness Tier 3 Proficiency Badge.
2. Road Safety
Complete any 2 requirement towards the Road Safety Badge.
3. Healthy Living
Make a poster and share with your friends or fellow Cubs about a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.
Understanding Community
1. Racial and Religious Harmony
Choose any one of the following activities:
(a) Visit the Harmony in Diversity Gallery.
(b) Participate in a racial harmony event within your local community or school.
(c) Complete a Learning Journey with OnePeople.sg.
(d) Complete any two requirements from the Community Living Badge.
(e) Complete any other suitable Learning Journey or Racial and Religious Harmony event within your school or unit. (Such as celebrating Racial Harmony Day.)
At the end of the selected activity, explain the importance of maintaining racial and religious harmony in Singapore.
2. Other Countries & Cultures
Complete ONE of the following:
(a) Attain the World Friendship Badge.
(b) Participate in 2-3hrs of JOTA-JOTI activities and journal about your experiences.
(c) Participate in a Cub Scout Camporee or Cuboree.
(d) Participate in an online or face-to-face activity with Cubs or Scouts from another country. Share in a journal entry about what you did, and what you learned about their country or culture.
Science and Nature
1. Exploring the Natural World
Attain any ONE of the following Activity badges:
(a) Astronomer
(b) Gardener
(c) Naturalist
(d) Scientist
Interests
1. Pursuit Badges
Complete TWO more requirements from any Pursuit Badge/s of your choice. Discuss with Akela before making your choice.
Creative Pursuits
1. Creative Pursuits
Attain any ONE of the following Activity badges:
(a) Artist
(b) Craftsman
(c) Entertainer
(d) Journalist
(e) Musician
(f) Photographer
Scout Promise and Law
1. My Scout Promise and Law
Write a diary entry and then share it with Akela about how you have tried to put your Scout Law into practice in your Scouting life, particularly in relation to how you have worked for your Arrow Badges and Pursuit Badges.
Scout Family
1. My Scout Family
Meet Cub Scouts and Scouts from outside your pack by taking part in an Area, National or joint-pack activity. Make a journal entry about what you learnt from the activity and how you felt about it.
