1) Discuss with Akela the advantages and disadvantages of different methods of cooking food and the importance of a balanced diet.
2) Articulate the basic rules of safety and hygiene in the kitchen and the reasons for them.
3) Plan, cook, serve and clear away a two-course meal for at least two people. The following dishes are given as suggestions. You may produce your own menu, which must be approved by Akela in advance.
