Skeleton

Artist Statement-

This drawing is an observational drawing from a model skeleton. The materials that I used for this artwork is black and white charcoal pencils and sticks. I chose this design because I really liked how the rib cage is shaped so I wanted to use that part of the skeleton in my drawing. The elements of art that I used were space, form, and value. The principal of art that I used was repetition (rhythm) in the ribs and vertebra. The composition rule that I used was formal balance because the center of the drawing is at the center to the paper. My project evolved because when I first started I didn't know how many ribs I was going to do or how long I was going to extend some of the bones. If I could go back and change something I would add more shading the the bones.
