Concentration #1

Artist Statement:

The theme of this concentration was using geometric shapes and a pastel color pallet and patterns to create a cohesive collection. The materials I used were fabric, pins, needles, thread, and a sewing machine. I began this concentration while I was at Haystack School of Crafts, where I learned the techniques I needed to create this collection. The elements of art that I used were shape, color, and form. The principals of design that I used were pattern and proportion/scale. This project relates to my life because for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to become a fashion designer and now with the skills I learned at Haystack, now I can actually work on achieving that dream. If I could go back and change anything I would try to match up some of the lines in the geometric black and white dress.
