A cellist, bass voice, and film and concert composer, Samuel Boyce, 22, has been involved in some form of music-making for almost all of his life and has been officially composing for over ten years. To date, he has written dozens of concert works including some four string quartets, two piano sonatas, two small orchestra pieces, choral works, solo cello works, a clarinet quintet, a percussion quintet, and more. Sam has also produced numerous standalone electronic works and professional-quality scores for existing advertisements and clips from films and television shows. Sam's dedication and passion for mixed media scoring has been recognized by multiple institutions: In 2020, Sam participated in NYU Steinhardt’s Screen Scoring Summer workshop, where he gained access to the clips currently in his composer reel, and in December 2023, he was accepted during early action to Berklee College of Music’s masters program for Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games in Valencia, Spain. A senior and music major at Williams College graduating in June 2024, Sam is excited to apply everything he's learned in college and in his personal studies in the professional world and finally fulfill his childhood dream of being a film composer on the big stage.
