Harriet Luck is a British film composer and percussionist. She made her professional debut in Minneapolis with her score for ‘The Door’ and has worked on several short and feature films.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Oxford in 2023. During her time there, she composed music for workshops with the BBC singers, the Castalian String Quartet, and was the principal percussionist for Katie Melua and the BBC Concert Orchestra, as part of the Silk Roads Project.

Prior to studying orchestral percussion at a junior conservatoire at the age of 14, Harriet could not read sheet music and taught herself songs by ear. When diagnosed with a debilitating illness later that year, she found solace in music, particularly through composing. This is when her love for expression through music began. Above all, Harriet’s aim for her music is to make someone feel.

As a percussionist, Harriet believes that she brings a completely unique perspective to her compositions. She is greatly aware of different sounds, their colours, the capabilities of sound-making objects, and is always looking to create and form new aural experiences through composition.

Harriet is extremely excited to be based in New York whilst undertaking her Master of Music in Screen Scoring and would love to discuss collaborations!
