Nozomi Lyn

Nozomi Lyn is a 22-year-old Film Composer, Singer-Songwriter, and Arranger based in New York City. She is a trilingual (English, Japanese, Mandarin) speaker born in Tokyo, Japan. She is a classically trained pianist and also plays the guitar and ukulele. She is currently piano arranging for upcoming Broadway musicals.

As a composer for visual media, she has experiences in composing for short films, animation, and documentary. Nozomi also specializes in blending the world of orchestral instruments and synth/electronic sounds as well as composing with just orchestral instruments or using only synth/electronic sounds. She can incorporate her vocals in scores as well.  

She began songwriting at the age of 11 and became a performer and a recording artist at the age of 14. Nozomi released her first single ‘Future is Now’ in 2016 and in the summer of 2018, she released her debut EP ‘WEST COAST’. In 2020, Nozomi began working on the recordings of her upcoming songs with Grammy nominated producer Joseph Magee (Miley Cyrus, Whitney Houston, Pitch Perfect). Her singles ‘3 am’, 'things i never said', 'komorebi', and 'dancing to the blues' are four of the songs she recorded at Joseph Magee’s studio in Nashville. 

Alongside composing, recording, and performing as an artist, Nozomi has a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Business from New York University. Right now, she is at NYU for Master of Music in Screen Scoring mentored by five time Emmy award winning composer, orchestrator, and producer Jamie Lawrence. 

Nozomi has been invited to sing an a capella solo of the Canadian National Anthem for the BC Lions Football Game at the BC Place Stadium. She has also toured in China and performed at various venues around Vancouver, BC.
