Yuhui Zhang
Yuhui Zhang, from Shanghai, is a composer who recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a double major in Composition and Film Scoring. Her recent works include the string quartet Breakthrough—selected for performance by the Mivos Quartet in 2024—the piano suite Blue, Yellow, Red, and the art song A Thunder Storm. She previously studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music’s affiliated school, where her award-winning works MuLan and Leap were nationally recognized. Drawing influence from Stravinsky’s rhythmic innovation and Rachmaninov’s emotional depth, her music explores a fusion of tonal and atonal languages with a focus on narrative and atmosphere.
