Vito Serafino Geraci is an award-winning composer, violinist, and pianist from Coral Springs, Florida, joining NYU Steinhardt’s Screen Scoring Program in Fall 2025. His original works—such as "Sonata for Skyscrapers", "Grand Central Station", "Overture No. 5", and "Bambi-Fantasie: Eine Lebensgeschichte aus dem Walde"—have earned national and international recognition, including the Global Genius Music Competition “Season Top 1 Award,” Tennessee Valley Music Festival Young Composers’ Forum National Winner, and top prizes from the National and Florida Federations of Music Clubs.
A seasoned performer and creative collaborator, Vito has premiered original works with the Florida Youth Orchestra, served as Concertmaster and Composer-in-Residence at North Broward Preparatory School, and performed at Carnegie Hall. He is a Quincy Jones Musicianship Award recipient, Berklee College of Music grant winner, and co-founder of the Mizner Society for the Performing Arts—a nonprofit offering scholarships and performance opportunities for young musicians.
His summers have included elite training at the Atlantic Music Festival, Berklee Film & Game Scoring Intensives in Boston and L.A., and the Tennessee Valley Music Festival, where his works were performed by professional ensembles and critiqued by industry professionals. Vito also composes professionally, including a video opening for legendary drummer Carmine Appice and orchestral arrangements for The Desert Symphony for the Rod Stewart Experience with Carmine Appice.
At NYU, Vito looks forward to scoring compelling visual stories and forming creative partnerships with filmmakers across the university.
