Selena (Siqi) Jin is a composer of music for film and TV, as well as concert music. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2022 with a major in Film Scoring and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Screen Scoring at NYU Steinhardt. Selena's passion for composition began at the age of three when she started playing the piano, and she went on to study Composition and Theory at Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in China. She was influenced by Western classical music, film music, Chinese folk music, and jazz, and her music style combines classical/contemporary, orchestral setting/electronic, and retro/avant-garde. Selena hosted a recital for original composition for contemporary chamber music and premiered her work "Re: Beauty" for the Choreographer Composer Showcase. She fell in love with jazz during her time at Berklee and incorporated the style into her music. Selena is currently collaborating with student filmmakers on short film projects at NYU Tisch. She aims to be a storyteller through her music and was inspired by Ennio Morricone's score for Cinema Paradiso to pursue a career in film composing.
