Max Ma

Max Ma is a talented composer and producer. He grew up in China and Florida, and through 14 years of classical piano, 6 years of guitar, and many more musical experiences, Max made it clear that he wanted to be a movie and game soundtrack composer. 

Max's expertise lies in many different styles of music, ranging from large orchestral to small chamber music and from classical to electronic experimental music. He has a successful career in playing the piano, winning numerous awards and serving as the keyboardist for the Windermere High School Marching Band as well as the piano and guitarist for the Joseph Wise Jazz Band in the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras. 

During his high school years, Max developed a keen interest in movie and video game soundtracks. He tended to summarize the patterns of background music for various scenes. He believes that music must convey unique ideas in order to be memorable, and music must be able to tell a great story in order to be timeless. 

After joining the NYU screen scoring program, he is looking forward to working with the industry and having his music heard by more people.
