Cody Rong is a composer and electronic musician from Shanghai, currently based in New York. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon’s Electronic Music program, he is fluent in both orchestral and electronic composition, blending tradition and innovation to create immersive worlds. Cody has scored five short films with student directors from USC, CMU, and BU, including (To No Avail) that won Best Student Short at the LA Indie Short Fest. He has also scored an indie games — Rainy Day, which has 100,000 downloads on Steam and an overall review of “Very Positive”. His work has been recognized with multiple awards, including being the winner/finalist in Indie Film Music Contest in 2022 and 2023. Cody approaches film scoring with a focus on crafting sonic moments that resonate long after the screen fades. He is passionate about working closely with filmmakers to push stories beyond their limits.
