Bryce Porter is a a multi-instrumentalist and composer from White Plains, Maryland with a passion for music that grows more and more every single day that goes by. Growing up in a culturally diverse household, Bryce has been exposed to a variety of different musical styles, and this absolutely shines through in his work, which contains influences from the many musical styles that he has had the pleasure of being exposed to.

Bryce began formally studying music at 10 years old, where he picked up the clarinet. Having already been in love with listening to music, he was more than happy to finally have a method of expressing the musical thoughts and ideas in his head. He took the clarinet all through middle school, gaining new musical experiences such as theory knowledge and ensemble skills, while additionally picking up piano and falling in love with composition along the way. He later began attending Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington DC, where he additionally picked up alto saxophone and further studied theory, composition, as well as classical and jazz idioms.

Throughout his time in high school, he took a lot of time deciding on what he wanted to pursue after. He knew it would be music, but as his compositional skills improved, he realized that a career in composition was the right thing for him. This led him to applying and being accepted to some of the best music schools in the country, including his dream school, NYU, where he plans to pursue his BM in Music Theory and Composition with a composition in Screen Scoring.
