Anjana Vishnubhotla is a film composer based in New York City who focuses on orchestral and electronic music. She has played in orchestras and studied classical composition in Chicago, Florida and now New York.
Anjana has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in Cinema and Media Studies and Music while also participating in the University Symphony Orchestra as a viola player. She has studied under composers Ania Vu and Sean Shepherd to compose classical repertoire for string quartets and small chamber ensembles. Anjana explored electronic music on her own (Logic and Ableton) and now incorporates it with orchestral music to make new ambient and orchestral-synth sounds. Anjana has worked on multiple student productions at UChicago, on films from romantic comedies to futuristic thrillers and has taken classical Advanced composition courses for full orchestra. She has also worked in multiple film production internships in Chicago at Picture North, Fire Escape films, and An Arm and a Leg productions in New York where she worked on film sets, assisted executive producers, and shadowed a film composer. Because of this, Anjana has experience with film sets and the production process and can work closely with filmmakers. Anjana hopes to expand her mark in feature films and make impactful, explorative music for cinema.
