Peter Hinckley

Peter Hinckley is a composer and instrumentalist from McLean, Virginia. From a young age, he has been writing music inspired by the scores from movies and video games, composing his first piece at the age of nine. Nowadays, his music is written to highlight the emotional arcs of film and other media.

Peter has a background in piano and trumpet performance, both jazz and classical, and is also well versed in software such as Logic Pro X, Sibelius, and ProTools. He has also won various music awards, recently the John Philip Sousa Award and Jo Lombard Award for Music Composition. 

He has collaborated to work on various student films and other projects from NYU Tisch and elsewhere. Currently studying screen scoring at NYU, Peter looks forward to using his music composition skills to work with filmmakers and the creators of all types of media.
