Leah Foster is a composer who focuses mainly on film music. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas in both Music Composition and Theory. Her primary instrument is piano, and having spent four years in collegiate choir, she is a strong vocalist as well. She considers herself a “jack of all trades,” as she is quite adaptable and easy to get along with.
Her goal with composition is story-telling. Her inspirations largely come from fantasy films and animations from Pixar and Dreamworks, thus she loves a touch of whimsy and dramatics in her own music. She enjoys trying new approaches in writing and is quite flexible when it comes to critiques or adjustments, and she takes any opportunity she gets to delve deeper and to learn about the art of music.
