Nick Alexander is a Canadian filmmaker and composer (b. 2001), specializing in music for Film and Visual Media. Nick is currently pursuing his Masters in Film Scoring at New York University in New York City, NY. With a background in music composition, his passion lies in crafting immersive soundscapes, sound design, and orchestrations that breathe life and meaningful storytelling into visual narratives.
Nick is more than just a composer and artist, but also a filmmaker himself. His mind and workflow go beyond only music, in ways where he analyzes how can he be a part of that concept? How does the music fit into this puzzle? Why is music even needed? Nick especially takes great pride in knowing how to speak the language of a director and of a cinematographer.
His music has been reviewed and critiqued by many professional industry-leading musicians including Kenneth Lampl, Tyler Bates, Sofia Hultquist, Viet Cuong, and Mick Gordon, among production houses and larger brands including Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group (UMG), and 4 Elements Music. His growing portfolio includes scoring for short films, commercials, songwriting, and pop production.
