Yehonatan Ashkenazi is a composer, pianist, producer, and artist. He grew up immersed in many cultures, languages, and musical genres and has lived in Israel, Germany, Switzerland, and more recently in the United States. His love of music began at a young age when he first played Pokémon Sun on the 3DS. From that moment, he was fascinated by how music was able to shape the listeners' mood, and greatly enhance mediums like video games and movies. He is especially inspired by composers such as Koji Kondo & Nobuo Uematsu whose music always impacted him while playing the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and of course Final Fantasy X. He loves playing these songs on the piano as well.

He is thrilled to be joining the NYU Steinhardt screen scoring community, to push his creative boundaries and positively shape the music and gaming ecosystems.

He plans to leverage my Steinhardt education to develop future-fit musical storytelling abilities that embrace and celebrate diverse cultural sounds and genres. As the music and gaming industry evolve, both serve as powerful mediums for social change, and he cannot wait to be part of it - contributing a unique fusion of sounds and stimulating healing, discourse, and understanding.
