Esther is a French-American composer based in New York City who specializes in screen and concert music. She has studied composition in both the US and France, providing her with various cultural influences that have directly inspired her stylistic choices in her music.

While living In Los Angeles during her teenage years, she quickly grew an affinity for composing for the screen in addition to her concert training. Her scores combine elements of orchestral and electronic music to provide every film she takes on with a unique texture and rich melodic grounding that builds on the project’s visual and auditory components. Esther loves collaborating with filmmakers and visual artists - she aims to complement their creative vision with her musical storytelling ideas.

Esther holds a BA in music and in economics from the dual degree program between Columbia University and SciencesPo in France. While in France, she earned her “Diplome de Composition” at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, studying under Eric Tanguy. Esther’s works have been performed by a number of ensembles and soloists in California, Minnesota, New York, and France, such as the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, the Aperture Duo, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Esther was also selected as a winner of the NextNotes High School Composition Award in 2018 and she was a 2019 YoungArts Finalist with an Honorable Mention. Her piece “Brisé” performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Hall in LA was also featured on NPR’s “From The Top” radio program.

Esther is currently pursuing her Masters in Screen Scoring at NYU Steinhardt. She is excited to collaborate with her peers and take on new projects.
