Dani Martinez is an American film composer, songwriter, and recording artist based in New York City. A natural storyteller, her film composition work prioritizes eclectic and original storytelling through sound, while also ensuring an individualized and collaborative relationship with each project’s filmmaker(s). She studied Composition under the mentorship of accomplished avant-garde composer and improviser Dr. Ross Feller at Kenyon College, where she also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.

Her latest scores were featured in award-winning short films such as “Bodywork”, directed by Jack Beckett Cohen, “SAIL”, directed by Liv Kane, “Under the Bed”, directed by Isaac Lipkowitz, “ENMITY”, directed by Peter Lujan, and “Veins”, directed by Hannah Loftis.

Her solo songwriting project, Ohio Martinez, has released three LPs in the last three years, titled Sentences and Figurines, Problem Child, and Paprika. A unique contrast to her necessarily collaborative film works, her work as a songwriter is an entirely individual project, as she wrote, produced, mixed, and performed every aspect of each LP.

She is currently pursuing a Masters of Music degree in Screen Scoring at NYU Steinhardt, and works as a dedicated music educator.
