Sonia Wang is a Taiwanese-American composer and classically-trained pianist based in New York. She composes for both the screen and the concert stage, drawing inspiration from a wide range of genre-spanning influences; her music blends intriguing harmonic language and contemporary classical techniques. 

Sonia’s media-scoring work includes a range of short films, including drama short ""Clarity"" and sci-fi short ""The Spectre of Evermore"". She also has experience with curating and conducting in film festivals with live orchestras. 

Her concert works include ""FAIRGROUNDS"" for wind quintet, ""The Witchcraft Miniatures"" for string quartet, ""Per Aspera ad Astra"" for symphony orchestra, ""Dawn/Dusk"" for solo piano, and ""The Many Moods of the Human Affliction,"" a multi-movement mixed chamber piece commissioned by Jodi Levitz and the Frost School of Music Stamps Distinguished Ensembles. 

Sonia is a recent graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where she studied composition with Charles Mason and film scoring with Carlos Rafael Rivera. She holds a B.Mus. in Music Theory and Composition with minors in Media Scoring and Film Studies, and she is excitedly embarking on her first year as a Masters student in NYU Steinhardt’s Screen Scoring program.
