With a passion for storytelling through music, Kathrina Davila is a multi-genre pianist, violinist, and composer from New Jersey who specializes in film, tv, and video game scoring as well as jazz composition. Composing from an early age, she began as a classically trained pianist at the age of 9, and as an undergraduate at Bard College, she fell in love with the world of jazz. While at Bard, she composed for the college’s Contemporary Jazz Composer’s Ensemble and honed her skills as a jazz pianist. Eager to explore other genres of music, Kathrina has gained experience composing for a wide array of ensembles ranging from small chamber groups and jazz trios to arranging for an orchestra. As a pianist, she has played at different venues across New York City, joining rock bands and being an accompanist for singer-songwriters. It’s because of all these experiences and inspirations that Kathrina’s compositional skills have no boundaries, as she uses all these foundations to create scores that aim to emotionally connect with the audience.

This fall, she will be entering NYU’s Screen Scoring program to obtain her M.M as part of the graduating class of 2025. Always open to collaborating on new projects, she is looking forward to meeting her peers and seeing what the future awaits!
