Luca Scoppetta-Stern is a pianist, film composer and singer-songwriter based in New York City. In high school, he studied jazz piano and music theory under Garry Dial, and was a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra program for four years. In addition, he wrote, arranged, recorded and co-produced two albums of his original music, in 2016 and 2018 respectively. 

Luca studied comparative literature and music composition at Yale University, where he collaborated with filmmakers, choreographers, and theater directors to produce both acoustic and electronic scores for films, dance pieces, and plays. He writes music in a diverse array of styles and for a variety of instrumentations and ensembles. 

Luca counts Joni Mitchell, Prince, and Ennio Morricone among his main influences as a composer. He interned for film composer Carter Burwell in the summer of 2019, and he worked this past year as an assistant to film and television composer Peter Nashel. He is currently pursuing a M.M. in Screen Scoring at NYU Steinhardt, and performing his original music with a six-piece band at venues around New York City.
