Harry Lucas

Harry Lucas is a composer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist based out of Brooklyn, New York. Concerned primarily with effective and compelling storytelling through music, he employs a variety of skills and styles to create scores that emphasize, express, and enhance the core elements of a film.

        Expansive harmony, inventive orchestration, and rhythmic development are key components of Harry’s composition. It is a core belief of his that a score should elevate a film and may often express what may be inexpressible otherwise. He prefers to work closely with filmmakers in order to craft music with the greatest fit.

        Harry graduated from Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and is currently enrolled in NYU Steinhardt’s Screen Scoring graduate program. He has experience writing and performing in Western Classical, Jazz, and Modernistic traditions. As a multi-instrumentalist, Harry has experience learning and incorporating new tools into his toolkit and strives to provide high-fidelity, live recorded music whenever possible. He draws particular inspiration from composers like Jóhann Jóhannsson and Ludwig Göransson.
