Adam Leduc (B. 1999) is a composer and pianist based in New York City. His passion for music started with the piano, which he began playing at two years old. His interested in composition grew out of his piano studies, and a desire to express inexplicable and irrational subjects central to the human condition, and what it means to be a mindful being in the universe. The precipice of existential thought is something he finds can only be satisfied and expressed through writing and creating music. Leduc possess a strong passion for romantic and neo-romantic writing, with the infusion of several serial elements ranging from tone rows to spectral orchestration. His primary area of interest is in the acoustic realm with large and sweeping orchestral works, intimate and fragile chamber works, as well as a comprehensive familiarity with extended techniques to create unique soundscapes. In addition to the concert stage, he also has extensive experience in media composing, where he strives to integrate a wide array of compositional techniques to create music that best suites the idiosyncrasies of every project.

In addition to composing, Leduc is also an extensively trained classical pianist, and has premiered many of his works for solo piano. Leduc made his compositional debut when he was ten, playing his piece Lost in a Dream for solo piano. In 2016, he and a fellow composer gave a concert featuring works for string quartet, organ, and solo piano. In 2019 he scored his first feature length film Choosing the Time, which told the story of Ernest Hemingway’s suicide. In 2020 his composition Fantasie in E minor “Ruminations” was premiered for solo violin. Throughout 2022 he worked on a string quartet Desiderium which was premiered in concert by members of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and recorded by the then IU Kuttner Quartet-in-Residence. In 2024 he scored two documentaries Move and Whispers of Hope, as well as a short film The Itch. In addition to these projects, Leduc also has extensive recording experience having worked on recording projects of his works including instrumentations such as string quartet, Irish tin whistle, string orchestra, a wind ensemble, full orchestra, electric guitar, and percussion ensemble.

During his undergraduate studies in 2017, Leduc engaged in a multidisciplinary approach studying both mathematics and music, with a focus on piano performance and composition, at the University of Wyoming where he was a recipient of the Trustees Scholars award. In the Fall of 2023, he began his graduate studies at New York University, where he is pursuing a M.M. in Music Theory and Composition: Screen Scoring. He also remains an active pianist, recording classical repertoire, his own arrangements, and his own compositions which he self publishes on his YouTube channel garnering over 500K views. In addition to his work as a composer and pianist, Adam is also an experienced orchestrator, arranger, and conductor.
