Benjamin Edelson is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from New York, currently pursuing an M.M. in Screen Scoring at NYU. Prior to NYU he attended Princeton University (studying philosophy and composition) and Juilliard Pre-College (studying French horn performance). In addition to playing the horn at Juilliard, Benjamin was principal horn of the New York Youth Symphony for two years and played in the Princeton University Orchestra throughout college. He has studied classical piano since he was five, and plays drums, bass, guitar, and organ as well. Benjamin also plays jazz, rock, and hip-hop piano/keyboards, and has performed at numerous venues. His classical compositions have been premiered by ensembles including So Percussion and the Princeton Sinfonia, and his Broadway-style show tunes have been performed in multiple original musicals by the Princeton Triangle Club. This depth of experience playing and writing affords him equal levels of comfort across genres as both a composer and a performer.
