December 8th, 2025 Week #17
"Opposites"
Students will continue to learn the concept of "opposites" as we read winter themed books along with "The Grinch". We will review vocabulary words from this unit of study. Students will apply their knowledge of "characters", "setting", "problem", and "solution" to the understanding of texts.

using a Venn Diagram in solving math problems

Identifying the problem
Thinking of ways to solve our problems
Kindness towards others
Polar Express Day is coming!
When: Wednesday, December 17th
What: Students are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a blanket, and watch The Polar Express movie.

Each school day, your child brings home their Daily Folder. Please make sure you are signing the GREAT Chart nightly and returning it to school on the following day. Your support and communication is very much appreciated. Thank you!
Please remember ...
Your child needs the following items sent in their backpack, every day:
*a change of clothes in a ziploc bag
*a water bottle that they can manage without spilling
* label water bottle, backpack and lunchbox
*2 healthy snack items (no items that require utensils, please)
*Please send one water/drink for lunch to stay in the lunchbox and another water bottle for snack
Dismissal Reminder:
If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please notify your teacher and the office with an email by at least 2:00 p.m. Please EMAIL your teacher, paola.cervantes@gcisd.net AND sierra.salter@gcisd.net.
