Absences/Ride Changes
If your child is going to be absent for any reason, please be sure to email your child's teacher, Ms. Sierra sierra.salter@gcisd.net and Nurse Katy katy.faught@gcisd.net. It's important for all of these staff members to be contacted in order for your child's attendance to be entered in correctly in Skyward. Thank you!
When making ride changes, picking up students for appointments and absences, please email both Sierra Salter (sierra.salter@gcisd.net) and Paola Cervantes (paola.cervantes@gcisd.net) in case one of them is out of the office.
Breakfast, Snacks, and Water
Please be sure that your child eats a good breakfast before school. We start our day as soon as they walk in the door. Please send a small (nut/peanut-free) snack and refillable water bottle with your child each morning.
Chromebooks and Headphones
Please be sure your child has either a working set of earbuds or headphones that can be left at school. We need them for the work that we do with technology. We kindly ask that you avoid wireless earbuds/headphones. They do not work well with Chromebooks. Also, please help remind your child each night to charge their Chromebooks!
Birthdays
Birthdays are special! We will celebrate your child's special day by singing in our classroom. You may send in small treats like pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. if you choose. Please refrain from sending in any food items. If you do send in any food item, it needs to be individually wrapped with the nutrition label.
