Reminders
Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences
Please check your email for a message from your child’s teacher that was sent on Friday, September 19th. Included in the message is a link to sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher to discuss beginning of the year assessment results and goals for this school year. We look forward to meeting with you!
When you arrive at OCT for your conference, please be sure you sign in on the Raptor Machine and get a sticker. We are required to have you sign in and get a sticker even after school. Thanks!
Headphones
Please make sure your child has a working set of headphones that they bring to school each day. We use these daily for i-Ready My Path Lessons and various other activities. The headphones need to have a cord that plugs into the iPad. No bluetooth headphones, please!
Weekly Library Schedule
Students will check out a new book from the library weekly as long as they return their old books. Please help your child remember to put library books back in his/her backpack after reading them at home. This will help ensure that your child gets to check out a new book at the library every time!
Ms. Shiles - Monday
Ms. Hilcher - Tuesday
Mrs. Duncan - Wednesday
Ms. Welch - Friday
Daily Reading at Home
Last week, your child started bringing home a book bag with a book to read and sight words to practice. Students are expected to read daily at home and bring their book bags to school daily. Please also have your child cut out his/her sight words (if you have not done so already). Students should be able to read, spell, and write their sight words, "in a snap."
Volunteers
We will need volunteers this year for field trips and other opportunities! In order to be a volunteer, you must have attended the Volunteer Orientation and completed the criminal background check. All volunteers are required to reapply EACH YEAR.
