Reminders
Curriculum Night Recap & Slideshow Presentation
Thank you to all of the parents who attended Curriculum Night last Tuesday, August 19. Please see the slideshow above and let your child's teacher know if you have any questions. A Curriculum Night folder was shared with all families. Please keep this folder in an easy-to-reach place as it includes important information that your child may need like his/her lunch code. "All About Me" Brown Bags are due Sept. 5th.
Volunteers
We will need volunteers this year for field trips and other opportunities! In order to be a volunteer, you must have attended the Volunteer Orientation and completed the criminal background check. All volunteers are required to reapply EACH YEAR.
To complete the criminal background check, click here:
Lunch Restrictions
Please consider selecting restriction(s) on your child’s lunch account (snacks only on Fridays, no extras.) Most students who do not have restrictions on their accounts, are purchasing/eating ice cream daily and often not eating their main entrees. We highly recommend placing restrictions on your child’s lunch account! Please fill out the form above and return to your child's teacher. Thank you!
Headphones
Please send in a pair of headphones for your child to use in the classroom if you have not done so already. A pair of headphones with a cord to plug in to the iPad is preferred. No bluetooth or wireless headphones, please. Students will be using headphones frequently to complete various activities and assessments.
iPad and Charger
Please be sure your child brings his/her 100% charged iPad AND charger to school every day. If your child is new to OCT, we are working on getting your child a device as soon as possible.
Ride changes
If you find your child must go home a different way than planned, please email your child's teacher, Ms. Paola, and Ms. Sierra by at least 2:00 pm.
Student Absences
Please email your homeroom teacher and copy Sierra Salter, sierra.salter@gcisd.net any time your Tiger will be absent.
Mystery Readers
We are so excited to have Mystery Readers join us on select Fridays this school year! Please see the Sign Up Genius link here. You will need to provide your own book, and we kindly ask that you email your child's teacher one week prior to your date for approval on your book. Please let your child's teacher know if you have any questions.
"All About Me" Brown Bags
All students received a brown bag and directions inside the Curriculum Night folder. Please send these bags and items in by Friday, September 5th, so that your child's teacher and class can get to know your child better. Thank you!
Healthy Snack
We invite your child to bring a healthy snack to school each day. The snack needs to be something that is not messy and does not require utensils. We are going to be eating and working at the same time. Any snack that contains chips, candy, or cookies is not considered healthy. A few suggestions are: goldfish, cheerios, pretzels, grapes, raisins, carrots etc. Your child’s snack must be NUT-FREE. Please pack the snack separate from their lunch. That will help me know that your child is eating their snack and not part of their lunch.
Grandparent's Day
Please see the flyer above for information on Grandparent's and Friends Day on Friday, September 5th.
