Outline every step for the New Patient experience at your clinic, including the breakdown of the appointment itself, and the key part the practitioner has to play in ensuring the next appointment is made.
Before
- check file for Contact Form (ask reception if there is no form on file)
During Consultation
- introduce yourself
- find out what they are here to for
- do any necessary assessments/testing
- find out goals
- fill out management plan
- go over what the plan is for the next follow up session and how often they will be seeing us (this this important so they understand why they are returning)
After Consultation - (hand over to reception)
- repeat the plan to reception so they can book appointments accordingly e.g. "We are going to be seeing _____ weekly for the next four weeks"
- ask reception to scan Management Plan, return plan to client
After Consultation - (nurturing)
- letter to GP
- two or three days later, check in call to see if they have any questions about the program, ask how they are feeling physically
