We share the space with paying gym members. Mapping out our classes allows
Great planning
Repeatable structure with options for variety
Ease of insturction and direction following for group classes
Effective communication with other members and staff
General Rules
Class circuits or activities can be structured in individual zones or adjacent zones
When using adjacent zones aim to only utilise two at a time MAX
Only adjacent zones may be used in combination (see examples below)
You can change zones during the class at any point (eg. finishing a circuit in zone B and moving to a new circuit in zone D)
Decription of each zone
A: Squat racks, powerlifitng equipment and deadlift platforms
B: Free space/functional training area. Mats, walls, dumbbells, skis
C: Machines, cable machines, freeweights and bench pressing
D: Sled track, airbikes, rowers, treadmills, bikes, kettlebell and ball storage
Most likely option
Always space for a class
Mostly weights, balance and supported exercises on squat racks (eg. TRX)
Other likely option for circuits
combination of weights, balance and cardio
Most clients will warm up down near the entry (bikes, treadmills, etc.)
Can set up other activities on the sled track (eg. balance, freeweights, stretching
Least Likely option (due to use of zone C by most members)
Allows clients to experience machines and cable exercises
Good to add variety when available
