Linkedin is an easy way to connect and potentially meet up with referrers. First step, make sure your profile looks professional.
Once your profile is set up correctly, it's time to start connecting. Set up list here
There are 2 options for connecting with others on Linkedin
1. Google
Your best bet is to actually use Google to search for professionals names directly. Use search terms such as "Surgeons Bowral", General Practitioner Southern Highlands" "Psychologists near me" "Doctors Bowral". Use their websites or listings on Google to search for people directly.
2. Search occupation and location
Similar to the above step, search the occupation of your desired referrer and then use filters to filter location, etc.
When you connect you can leave a message to the request. It should go something like this
" Hey [name], I'm an Exercise Physiologist in the Southern Highlands looking to connect with like minded professionals. Hope to connect with you, thanks!"
If they connect, this means they are somewhat active on Linkedin. Now it is time to send a DM. Here are some examples
1. to a specialist or doctor
"Hi NAME,
Thanks for connecting!
I don't believe we've worked together before and I was curious to as whether you have utilised an Exercise Physiologist in the treatment of your [insert pathology/speciality here] patients before? If so, what was your experience like?
As an up and coming profession we don't expect health professionals to know our exact scope of practice. I'd love to chat more about this and how we could help your patients achieve amazing results."
2. to a physio/AHP
"Hi NAME,
Thanks so much for connecting!
I don't believe we have met before, however I was wondering if you have ever worked with an Exercise Physiologist before? What was that relationship like?
My goal is to collaborate with [physio, osteo, psych's] to create amazing results for the people in the Southern Highlands. I'd love to also learn more about yourself and your practice."
