Use a pestle and mortar in a working fume cabinet to carefully break the Iron(III),
dissolve in Distilled water (short life), no HCl.
HCl act a a preservative.
1. Wear eye protection.
2. Weigh out the indicated mass of the selected iron(III) salt.
3. Add the solid to about! two thirds of the final volume of 1 M sulfuric acid in a beaker or laboratory jug. Use DISTILLED WATER instead,
4. Stir to dissolve. Do not warm the solution.
5. If a!beaker has been used ,pour the solution into an appropriately sized measuring cylinder or laboratory jug and add 1 M sulfuric acid to the required final volume. Mix well.
6. Pour the solution into a labelled bottle. Include hazard warning and/or control measure information on the label if appropriate.
