-Two mixtures (labelled A and B) of sodium carbonate or (calcium carbonate) and sodium sulphate (Any sulphate, or even sand. anything not reactive). Recommend mixing them in 20:80 and 80:20 ratios. With the limestone analysis you can use calcium carbonate and sodium sulphate. You will need around 50g of each sample (you shouldn’t need this much, but it will get spread around a bit, so best to have plenty, the reagents are fairly inexpensive).
OR 5 mixture A 20:80, B8:20, C0 %, D100%, E 50:50
-50 mL measuring cylinders.
-Retort stands / clamps. Each group will need 2 stands / clamps, one for the conical flask and one for the collection equipment.
-Dilute (0.5M HCl).
