Each pupil/ group :

• Stand boss clamp

• 100 cc gas syringe

• Adapter with bung to connect boiling tube to syringe

• Boiling tube and rack

• Small beakers to carry acid to desk

• glass pen to label beakers

• Stop-watch

• 10 cc measuring cylinder

• 25 cc measuring cylinder

General apparatus :

• Emery paper/ sand paper to sand down magnesium ribbon

• Large Beaker and sieve for waste

Chemicals :

• Distilled water

•  Hydrochloric acid 2.0 M about 80 cc per group

• 5 X 3 cm of Mg ribbon for each group
