• 1 X foamed plastic (polystyrene) cup approx. 150 cc

• 1 X thermometer -11to 110 C

• 1 X weighing boat or 100cc beaker

• 1X 50 cc measuring cylinder

• 50.0 cc of 1.0 M copper(II) sulphate

• 2.0g (+/-0.1g) Zinc powder supplied in stoppered container (2X per student)

• 3 X balances

Extension :

• Apparatus and 1.0 M copper(II) sulphate as above

• 0.8g (+/- 0.1g) magnesium turning supplied in stoppered container
