Catalytic Cracking liquid paraffin              GAs ON                          HazCard :

• Catalytic cracking boiling tubes 7A1 clean after each use and set up ready for next use

• Liquid paraffin (in tray 7A1)

• Delivery tubes 7A1 (make sure delivery tubing bunsen valve is ok)

• Test tubes and bungs to collect gas in

• bunsen burner, heat proof mat

Clean apparatus with soap and hot water

check tubing is not block by melted bungs

dirty Boiling tube to be dispose in contaminated glass use pirex tube

Chemical : (optional)

• Bromine Water 0.01 M dilute to pale yellow- orange colour. (about 2cc) To test for alkene (Oxidation) 

• Acidified potassium(VII) Manganate, about 0.02M about 2cc To test for alkene (oxidation)

• Mineral wool
