Need to get in touch with PCS Home Office Merseyside Branch?
Following previous emails on this subject changes have now taken place but they're not necessarily accurate.
Further to Members' Briefings MB 53/17, 68/17, 69/17 and 49/18 members will be aware that PCS have been campaigning that errors including allowances in pension entitlement should be rectified and statements should reflect a number of unaccounted-for legacy allowances. These have included SDA and language allowance, along with over 100 other unrecorded pensionable allowances.
It would appear that after many years of negotiation, these changes have taken effect. However, PCS are receiving reposts of a significant number of members, rather than reporting an increase in pension, which was the expected outcome, some members have actually seen their pension forecasts decrease.
In response to these reports, PCS have engaged with Pension leads with Home Office and have asked that these anomalies are investigated. During these discussions we have been advised that the MyCSP helpline will not discuss this exercise as they do not hold data and have provided an email address that feeds directly into the team who have undertaken the changes.
Therefore, PCS would advise that if members have been contacted by MyCSP to identify a change in their pension benefits, and this change does not look correct that they write to the team directly via this email address:
HomeOfficeRectification@mycsp.co.uk
If their response does not seem to reflect your personal circumstances, then please raise this, in the first instance with your local branches who can collate the individual cases and refer them to me, with the MyCSP response for further investigation.
PCS will be pressing for any errors to be corrected as soon as possible as we understand how important pension forecasts are in the financial planning of members.
