Despite another increase in personal cases this year the expenditure by the branch from the allocated rebate we receive from PCS HQ has been sensibly and frugally applied with only a small amount of expenditure being claimed for by your branch reps dealing with cases that have been difficult to get to geographically.
This gave us some freedom to update some IT equipment but we are in a position to give back to central funds what we did not use
The funds are allocated from members contributions. We are aware that there have been a couple of increases in the membership fees this year which some members will find difficult but hopefully you can be assured of how frugal this branch is benefiting from support from management and by making full use of technology and apps and advantage of the facilities given which keeps costs down and enables money to be put towards fighting funds and campaigns benefitting us all. In line with this if we have emails and mobile phones, we can enhance the communication as frugally going forward into next year so pleae keep us up to date either on-line PCS website or via the branch.
This account is funded by members working festivals in the summer while spending their leisure around the festival events. In 2019 we did not receive any money from this source but we still have a credit of £259.00 for future use.
Expenditure from this account this year was used for prize money as an incentive to vote in the PCS pay campaign (£100) and a donation to the Labour Party general election campaign (£50) in line with PCS policy an in recognition of the party's support for public services.
Finally, I would like to thank our branch auditors Paul Darbyshire and David Cain. Paul recently retired so we thank him for his work both as a rep then an auditor over the years and wish him well for the future. This leaves a vacancy for another auditor to go over our accounts annually. If anyone would like to assist in this please consider a nomination as branch auditor.
