Further to our members' update of 30 September branch reps met with Border Force Seaforth management on 15 October 2021. The items on the agenda were the review and restructure of the screening site work and WCP teams that are under way and to discuss any new developments.

The briefing sessions for staff on these issues were reported as well attended and questions raised with management were similar to those issues raised by the branch around rosters/shifts, AHA rates and how staff would be chosen if the proposed brigading team was over, or under, subscribed.

As agreed with management a preference exercise was undertaken with the closing date of 11 October. Meetings between management and HR will take place this week (commencing 18 October) so members should expect some communications on the next steps from the results of the preference exercise after that. The branch should have sight of the communications to be sent to staff on this issue. There are no details on rosters/shift patterns yet or any other developments in terms of planning.

Regarding screening site work, this is still under review awaiting IT systems and technological capability before any changes are considered so again, no plans or decisions have been made yet for changes to the current work.

As soon as the branch receive any further details on the screening site review and WCP restructure we will post an update here on our website. We would advise members to direct any concerns or suggestions to their line manager in the first instance and copy in the branch to any emails, or if needed, members with individual concerns can request personal assistance through the website.
