PCS members' meeting for Gaza 7 February 2024

Previously we announced that the National Executive Committee (NEC) had agreed to support a day of action for Gaza called by the Stop the War Coalition (StWC) and CND on Wednesday 7 February 2024. PCS is affiliated to the StWC and CND.

As part of this day of action the PCS National Black Members Committee (NBMC) in partnership with the NEC International Committee has organised a virtual meeting on Zoom that will discuss the current crisis in Gaza, the protests across the country and how you can ensure you are protected as a civil or public servant whilst you support Palestine.

It will be a chance to come together to stand in solidarity in Gaza and share your own experiences of activism for Palestine. Please also read the NEC’s statement on the conflict in Gaza. The statement condemned the massacres of civilians and the taking of hostages in Israel by Hamas forces, and called on the UK Government to condemn Israel for its horrifying response, a form of collective punishment which is against international law.

The lunchtime session is chaired by the NBMC Chair and NEC member Mohammed Shafiq and special guests including Louise Regan, vice-chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Terina Hine, National Officer from Stop the War Coalition, and John Moloney, Assistant General Secretary. The session will run from 12.00 - 1.30pm on Weds 7 February.

You will need to register in advance to attend this session.
