• What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?

An opportunity to be the person who helps establish and settle my family's generation here in California and beyond. I'm also honored to be the blueprint to my younger brother's future success when he makes the next step in his academic career when he reaches college.

• What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?

My proudest moments at UCSD would be the experiences and friendships I've gained outside the school setting that would not be possible if I had decided to attend elsewhere. That is why I will always consider UCSD my second home because of all the memories and emotions that will be forever tied with me to keep rent free of course!

• What advice do you have for current or future first-generation students?

Take in and appreciate your unique situation. It may seem like a burden at first, but make sure to use the wisdom that you gain from your own experience so that college can be a continuous reality for those you cherish.

• Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?

To all my friends & family, I want to thank them for their continuous support of my academic career that has helped me complete my undergrad studies here at UCSD. Without their presence, I truly believe that obtaining a college education might have not been a reality for me.

• Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?

All of my communications professors who expanded my knowledge on not just our field but applicable information to use on what is going on in our day to day lives.

• What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?

Hopefully continue my education and pursue a Master's Degree because the education here at UCSD has added more fuel for me to strive for greater knowledge that will benefit those who are with me.
