• What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you? /¿Qué significa, para ti, ser una graduada universitaria de primera generación?

Being a first-generation college graduate means being a trail blazer for possibilities in my family. It also shows that the sacrifices made in my family are worth it.

Ser un graduado universitario de primera generación significa ser un pionero de las posibilidades en mi familia. También muestra que los sacrificios hechos en mi familia valen la pena.

• What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD? /¿Cuál es tu momento de mayor orgullo durante tu tiempo en UC San Diego?

Getting in and graduating with 3 titles! I anticipated graduating early but took the extra fourth year to claim two minors.

¡Entrar y graduarme con 3 títulos! Anticipé graduarme temprano, pero tome el cuarto año extra para reclamar dos menores.

• What advice do you have for current or future first-generation students?/¿Qué consejo le darías a los estudiantes actuales de primera generación?

• Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?¿Quiénes son las personas que han sido las más influyentes a lo largo de tu trayectoria universitaria (amigos, familia, comunidad, seres queridos)? ¿Hay algunas palabras de agradecimiento que te gustaría compartir con ellos?

I want to thank my parents for getting me through college, my sister Emily for being such a great companion during quarantine, and my friends who stay in contact with me even though I'm a pretty distant friend. And my boyfriend for keeping me fed.

Quiero agradecer a mis padres por llevarme a la universidad, a mi hermana Emily por ser una gran compañera durante la cuarentena y a mis amigos que se mantienen en contacto conmigo a pesar de que soy una amiga bastante distante. Y a mi novio por mantenerme alimentado.

• Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?/¿Quiénes son las personas de UC San Diego que han sido las más influyentes a lo largo de tu trayectoria universitaria (personal, profesores, mentores, etc.)? ¿Hay algunas palabras de agradecimiento que te gustaría compartir con ellos?

I'm soooo grateful to my family at the Dean's office of Global Ed for making my college work journey so fun and enjoyable! I loved working there, and I hope whoever takes my place is wonderful!!

¡Estoy muy agradecido con mi familia en la oficina del Decano de Educación Global por hacer que mi viaje de trabajo universitario sea tan divertido y placentero! ¡Me encantó trabajar allí, y espero que quienquiera que tome mi lugar sea maravilloso!

• What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?/¿Qué planeas o esperas hacer después de graduarte?

I'll continue school at home (Central Coast, CA) and become a registered nurse. I hope to become a nurse practitioner and potentially a PA in the long run!

Continuaré la escuela en casa (Costa central, CA) y me convertiré en enfermera titulada. ¡Espero convertirme en enfermera practicante y potencialmente en PA a largo plazo!
