What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
Being a first-generation college graduate represents all of the work that my family has done in order to help me get to this point.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
My proudest moment would be the perseverance that I demonstrated in the first two years to continue doing my best in my major classes.
What advice do you have for current or future first-generation students?
Never be afraid to ask for help. And try to force yourself out of your comfort zone by going to office hours, tutoring sessions, and all other resources that are designed for you to succeed.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
My girlfriend Jessika was always the brightest light in my days. She inspired me to do my best and excel in everything that I do. Additionally, my mom always believed that I could be the best and helped me get through all four years.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
The entire Chemical Engineering department was truly a blessing, as they did their best to put students first and ensure that their classes were enjoyable and valuable.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
Following graduation, I will be working full-time with Wildcat Discovery Technologies, learning how to build better batteries and enjoying the beautiful San Diego sunshine!
