What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you?
It means overcoming self-doubt and learning from all your experiences to keep moving forward.
What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD?
In my time as a summer peer mentor, the people I met and the memories we made were some of the best moments in my college experience.
What advice do you have for current or future first-generation students?
Don't feel pressured that everything you're involved with at UCSD has to be centered around your major, and if you're worried about time commitment, talk with people - often times the enthusiasm you have is more important.
Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
To my Mother, Father & Sister: you've been by my side throughout my entire life & supported the choices I made, knowing & believing that I would one day graduate college and share this moment with you all. Thank you for everything.
Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them?
Thank You Success Coaching Team for the opportunities of growth in mentoring and supporting other first generation students. Thank you for being amazing staff & supervisors who embodied what it means to be student centric. I'm grateful to have worked by your side.
What do you plan or hope to do after graduating?
Short-term I plan to start research in Germany come Fall.
