• What does being a First-Generation College Graduate mean to you? / Que significa ser graduado de primera generación para ti?

It means being the first but not the last. It means that I am the start of something great and an example of the possibilities.

Ser un graduado de primera generación significa ser la primera pero no la última. Significa que soy el principio de algo grande y un ejemplo de las posibilidades.

• What is your proudest moment from your time at UCSD? / Cual es el momento que te hace mas orgulloso en tu tiempo en UC San Diego?

When I was finally able to adapt and I found myself interacting in classes and finding an organization where I felt like I was at home.

Cuando por fin me pude adaptar a ese nuevo lugar y empecé a interactuar en mis clases y también pude encontrar una organización donde me sentía como en casa.

• What advice do you have for current or future first-generation students? / Que consejos tienes para futuros estudiantes de primera generación?

Stay focused and motivated, because you can do anything and everything with that mindset.

Manténganse enfocados y motivados, porque con esa mentalidad lo pueden todo.

• Who are the family members, friends or loved ones who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them? / Quienes son familiares o amigos que te influenciaron más en tu carrera de universidad? Tienes algunas palabras para ellos?

My parents who I owe it all to. For supporting me through it all and being my motivation to push harder but also my light when I went through my dark times. I love you and this one is for you!

Mis papas a quienes les debo todo. Son los que me apoyaron en absolutamente todo y fueron mi motivación para seguir adelante y también mi luz cuando pase por momentos oscuros. Los amo muchísimo y esta va para ustedes !

• Who are the staff, faculty or mentors who have been most influential throughout your college journey? Are there any words of gratitude you would like to share with them? / Quienes son los profesores o mentores que te influenciaron más en tu carrera de universidad? Tienes algunas palabras para ellos?

All the professors that truly cared about my success in their class and who helped me understand the things that I was not able to. Thank you for being there for your students and actually caring for their well being along with their learning experience.

Para mis profesores que en verdad se preocuparon en mi y mis estudios. Gracias por ser tan buenos con los estudiantes y por qué si les preocupa el bien estar y el éxito de sus estudiantes.

• What do you plan or hope to do after graduating? / Cuales son tus planes después de graduación?

I want to go into a CLS program and work in a hospital lab. Hopefully go back and get my masters and then join a pharmaceutical company for research.

Me gustaría completar un programa de certificación y trabajar en un laboratorio de hospital. Después regresar a obtener mi maestría y continuar en una compañía farmacéutica conduciendo estudios.
