Every day the Motor Vehicle Investigations Unit (MVIU) receives referrals of alleged fraudulent activity from various sections within the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) that result in prevention of further criminal activity and the promotion of public safety. Additionally, the knowledgeable staff of the MVIU investigates those referrals and works diligently to preserve the integrity of the motor vehicle systems and records.
The professional, diligent and actionable intelligence of DMV employees in conjunction with MVIU investigators is a force multiplier in fraud prevention. Together we will increase the safety of all Coloradans by ensuring that each person has only one identity, one record, and one document. MVIU would like to show recognition to those that have gone above and beyond in the efforts of detecting fraud by following procedures and being thorough.
The MVIU would like to recognize the Aurora Driver License Office Manager, Amy Linn. Her positive attitude along with her fraud detection skills while managing the Aurora Driver License Office has long been an asset to the Division of Motor Vehicles all while maintaining a proactive and positive attitude towards combating driver’s license fraud. Amy's sixth sense fraud detection skills are second to none as a driver license office manager and she is persistent in questioning those customers suspected of fraudulent activity. Relying on her training and experience, she recently identified a customer who presented a counterfeit Colorado birth certificate when the customer was actually born in New York.
MVIU formally presented Amy Linn with a Certificate of Commendation with much appreciation, in recognition of the assistance and many contributions she has made to MVIU and the Colorado DMV.
