Elizaveta Summers of the Taxation Division! Check out that neat photo! Congrats Elizaveta! That's awesome!
From Elizaveta: I've always wanted to learn archery, and this year I finally signed up for archery classes!
I'd like to nominate my supervisor, Andrea Kaumann, for the Three Pillars Contest because she truly embodies what leadership, wellness, and culture mean at the DOR. After spending 16 years in the private sector, I joined the department just four months ago and was unsure if I had made the right decision. Andrea quickly helped me realize that this is exactly where I belong. Her leadership is steady, empowering, and uplifting. She ensures I always have what I need to do my best work. She fosters a positive, inclusive culture where every team member feels seen and supported. She promotes wellness not just in policy, but in practice, by caring about our workload, balance, and overall well-being. Andrea is a fantastic leader and I truly believe she deserves this recognition.
Nominated by Rayna Salas - OHR ODE Team
From Alexandra: This past year, I have focused on my mental health by trying/learning new things!
I moved into my own apartment
I attended country swing dancing classes
I spun bowls on a lathe in the woodshop
I snowboarded down a mountain (with only a few tumbles)
I explored the Colorado mountains and went camping
I read books and floated on my paddleboard at various reservoirs/alpine lakes
I competed in powerlifting
Trying new things, on my own or with other people, pushed me outside my comfort zone. I have grown in so many ways, met many incredible new friends, and added to my skillset. I encourage everyone to go do that thing you have always wanted to try!! Happy Mental Health Awareness Month :)
From Melissa: I am the head of our employee engagement committee and am committed to making the workplace a happy place. I am consistently thinking of ideas with my team to not only encourage team building events, but to help coordinate them if need be. With a lot of our staff on the front lines serving the public in the DMV, it is important that we let our employees know how much we appreciate them, as well as what an impact they are making for the state of Colorado. As a mother with a kid driving, I especially appreciate the diligence that they all go through to ensure nothing but safe drivers on our streets. Customer facing comes with hard times and emotions. I have made it a priority of mine to ensure that offices are holding these events with the monies given to them to help them relax and be happy between customers. I am consistently a positive person and bring nothing but happiness and positivity to the offices and their staff. I love to make people smile. I have come up with some really fun events this year that were able to help us get to know each other, as well as spreading love and kindness to all. I am also very diligent in ensuring people know about Fill Your Values Pie and I get them submitted every quarter for our folks. I appreciate the consideration. Thanks so much!
