Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my family, practicing yoga, and exploring nature through hiking.

In the workforce, I am someone who has a keen eye for details and a natural curiosity for exploring regulations and their proper implementation. Serving as an auditor for the State is not just a job for me, but will be a treasure hunt for accuracy and compliance, in pursuit of betterment for our agency. I thrive on digging deep, connecting the dots and making sure no policy stone is unturned. I am pridefully unashamed of the pleasure I get from being a policy nerd.
I have a passion for seeing the positive side of things and am fueled by laughter and smiles. I like to show up in this world as someone who aims to never be the reason someone's day is ruined. Someone who once worked for me had a personal slogan of, "How you do anything, is how you do everything!", and that resonated with me, speaking to the effort I put behind anything my name is attached to.
I'm a self proclaimed "favorite aunt" and mother of one, who spends most of my time driving up and down Colorado for sporting event tournaments, play productions, choir performances and the like, of my son, nephews and niece. Supporting them means everything to me. I'm the oldest of 3, from a military background family. Raised in San Diego, I am a Colorado transplant and love the beauty of this State. Laughing is my favorite thing to do, so for a good time, I love a good comedy show. I am also a foodie who loves trying different restaurants... so much that I obtained Yelp Elite status for my restaurant reviews and pics.

The cornerstone of my professional life is best summarized as, "Always leave things better than you found them...especially people."
My passion lies in helping others succeed and thrive in their jobs -- whether it is through automating tedious routine processes, statistical modeling to assist their decision making, or producing reporting that helps remove a bit of guess-work from their day. After working both as a statistician and actuary for many years, I am proud to bring my enthusiasm for transparency, clarity, and simplicity to Internal Audit.
In my free-time, you will find me half-heartedly attending Jazzercise classes (still counts as exercise!), knitting blankets that I never quite finish, and walking my dog(s).

Before joining DOR I worked in the casino industry in Black Hawk for 15 years where I worked up to Revenue Audit Manager. For the past 2 years I was at the State's Controller Office at DPA where we prepared the States Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and assisted other state agencies with budget implementation and technical assistance
Working towards obtaining my Certified Internal Audit certification
Outside of work, I root for all the home teams and enjoy attending sporting events. You will find me mountain biking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. I like to travel solo with just a backpack and have visited London, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Peru.

was born and raised in South Florida, and attended both FSU and FAU later for graduate school. I began my career as an auditor in Florida, working initially in public accounting before moving to Colorado. I have also worked in higher education and local government before joining the Department of Revenue.
Continuously learning is what keeps me motivated in my career, and I enjoy working together with others as a team. I have always appreciated collaboration and teamwork. I find auditing enjoyable as it allows me to consistently learn and work collaboratively with others.
Outside of work, I have fun spending time with family and friends whenever possible. I’m a proud uncle and cat Dad. I like camping and traveling, and especially enjoy visiting different states and national parks across the county. My favorite national parks that I’ve been to so far are Glacier and the Grand Canyon, with many more on the list. Live music is one of my favorite pastimes, and I’m a big fan of the Miami Heat.
